Jacksons Fencing was recently commissioned by MHS homes to provide a security solution for Wayne Court in Rochester, Kent. Residents were becoming increasingly frustrated with local youths congregating on the lawns, and causing a disturbance. It was decided that the existing low boundary timber fence, open driveways and footpaths were insufficient as a boundary, so the problem needed to be addressed.
MHS homes required a fencing system with matching gates to surround the entire development, but they wanted to avoid a prison-like appearance. Jacksons suggested their classic Barbican Fencing, powder coated in black with matching gates. Every fence panel and gate post was topped with gold acorn finials, to reflect the MHS homes logo and provide an attractive appearance. Although the majority of the security fencing is only 1m high, a 5m section of 2.2m high Barbican Defender was installed next to a garage roof, which will prevent anyone climbing onto it. Barbican Defender pales effectively deter climbers, as they are bent over at an angle which creates an effective security solution without looking too imposing.
Both MHS homes and the residents of Wayne Court are very happy with the finished installation, which has achieved all objectives. Jacksons offer a genuine long life, low cost option and all their steel products are hot dip galvanised, and covered by a 25 Year Service Life Guarantee, so they require virtually no maintenance.
