Posts used to install our Heavier Garden Gates

On this page you will find gate posts used to install our heavier garden gates. The garden gate product page will specify the post that is required.

We have two post options for our heavier garden gates:

  • 125 x 125mm Gate Post - often used when a gate is installed independently. Please note our heavier posts arrive with weathered tops however if you do not like style you are able to reverse the post so you can install it upside down leaving you with a flat top.  Postcap 640660 can be used if the post is installed upside down.
  • Heavy Duty Slotted End Posts - for use when installed at the end or in the middle of a fence run.

Wall plates can be used when the gate will be installed against a wall

Please Note: Gates and posts are supplied in natural Jakcured finish and guaranteed against rot and insect attack for 25 years.  When cutting or drilling this product we recommend using Jakcure® Cut Treatment to ensure cut timber is not left untreated, also please refer to our Timber post installation instructions below for the correct installation steps.

The table below should help work out the length posts that are required for our most common gate heights in a standard environment.

Gate Height   125 x 125mm Post    HD Slotted Post
Less than 1.8m 272500 669011
Over 1.8m 272600 669011

If a garden gate is going to be installed against a wall, our wall plates can be found below:
