Grooved Jakwall® Timber Retaining Wall
Grooved Jakwall® is our timber retaining wall landscape timber system, providing an alternative to traditional brick walling or traditional sleepers. It comes in three grooved designs, and an ungrooved design is also available. Created from planed timber with chamfered edges, Jakwall provides a modern alternative to traditional garden sleepers. Made from Jakcure® pressure treated timber, Jakwall is suitable for ‘in-ground’ conditions, and comes with a 25 year guarantee against rot and insect attack.
Grooved Jakwall options include:
Option 1: Product code – 171700 – grooved face towards the front, this option is ideal for creating retaining walls or raised flower beds. The most brick wall lookalike option.
Option 2: Product code – 171900 – Grooved all round (on all sides), every face shows brick effect grooves. Great for raised garden beds and standalone walls where both sides will be seen.
Option 3: Product code 171801- 140mm grooved face to the front, this larger ‘brick’ effect front is more suitable for creating a timber wall or barrier by building up timbers on top of each other.
Where possible, avoid cutting, drilling or notching any timber that will be in-ground, as per our 25 year Jakcure® terms and conditions. If occasional sections do have to be cut then Cut Treatment should be applied liberally.
Installing Jakwall Garden Sleepers
Jakwall timber garden sleepers are easily joined using hex head timber screws - no pre-drilling required. A hex head driver bit is also available for use with power tools. Use at least three screws per sleeper, depending on the height of the wall or structure.
Ungrooved Jakwall Landscape Sleeper
Option 4: Product code - 171910 – No grooves on any face.
Ungrooved Jakwall is our contemporary garden sleeper option made from planed timber and with chamfered edges. Ungrooved Jakwall is a great choice for raised garden beds in more contemporary gardens.
150mm Long Timber Screws are usually used to connect a landscape timber when attaching through the 90mm width timber.
